Week 2 - "act like kids"

This afternoon was 97 degrees with a heat index of 106.  Good time to go to the Rotary pool and act like kids.  First we got in the big pool and threw a ball back and forth for awhile.  Every once in awhile Jordan and his friend would jump in and try to grab the ball away from us; but mostly, everyone pretty much ignored us.  It must make people feel a little uneasy to watch two 63-year-olds jump up and down in the water while trying to skip the ball in such a fashion as to splash the other one in the face.
Anyway, I am pretty certain that I won that contest.

Dad went down the waterslide - once.  I think he got water up his nose.  Besides that, we got yelled at by two lifeguards.  Evidentally, we were sitting on the edge of the pool, dangling our feet in the water, and no lifeguard was assigned to that particular area.  So before we got into any more trouble, we left the water slide area and made our way over to the "baby pool".   It is called the baby pool for obvious reasons:  90% of it's occupants are under the age of two.
The water was quite a bit cooler and Dad got to stand under one of those umbrellas and let cool water fall on his head.  Once again, we tried to take pictures of ourselves without being too conspicuous.  Hard to do when you are made to sit on a giant green frog with a pink tongue.  But it was refreshing and we had a good time.  Once again, we probably wouldn't have done this if we hadn't had a little card suggesting it.  Thanks.

Week 1 - "go to a bar and order a drink you've never tried"

Last night we found ourselves with an empty house.  What better time to start on our excellent adventures.  So we started with an easy one.  We went to Roc's for dinner and asked to see the drink menu. Lots of choices, but we have already tried martinis, cosmopolitans, wine, beer, etc.

So the drink you see on the left is mine:  Roc's Creole Splash.  It is made with Bicardi with pineapple and orange juice and Grenadine and cherry.  Very fruity and refreshing and I would definitly order it again.  The drink on the right is Bill's:  The Godfather.  It is bourbon and amaretto on the rocks.  It was actually so strong that he couldn't finish it if he wanted to drive home.  Dad thinks he will stick to Sam Adams and microbrews, but I think I might have found a new favorite drink!  We got a booth in the back of the bar so when the waitress wasn't looking, we could take these picture for you.  While we ate dinner, we talked about what we might do next week.  Jordan wants us to try the prank phone call, but believe it or not, that is going to be one of the more difficult ones for us.
